For a 1989 Ford Aerostar with a V6 engine, the spark plug wire locations on the distributor cap follow a specific firing order. The firing order for the V6 is 1-4-2-5-3-6. Starting at the cap, the wires should be arranged clockwise, with the first position typically being cylinder 1, followed by 4, 2, 5, 3, and 6. Make sure to double-check the cylinder numbering and the specific firing order for your engine configuration.
All of the spark plug wires go to the distributor. Just follow the wires and you will see the distributor.

On my '88 vette it's on the rear of the engine near the distributor cap driver side of engine. It has 2 wires out of the top.
1 - 4 - 2 - 5 - 3 - 6 The distributor rotor turns CLOCKWISE
It will have a black cap on it with 4 wires coming out and each wire going to a spark plug. Follow the wires from the spark plugs backward and you will find the distributor.
That would be the pick up plate in the distributor.

This depends on whether the engine is equipped with a distributor or with EDIS (Electronic Distributorless Ignition System). If EDIS, there is essentially no adjustment. If distributor, you remove the engine cover inside the vehicle and loosen/turn the distributor like any other. Get an aftermarket manual such as Chilton or Haynes for detail of procedure.

To replace the distributor cap on a 1989 Ford Bronco II, first disconnect the negative battery cable to ensure safety. Remove the distributor cap by unscrewing or unclipping it, then carefully label and detach the ignition wires from the old cap to avoid confusion when reconnecting. Install the new distributor cap by connecting the wires in the same order, ensuring a snug fit, and finally reattach the negative battery cable. Start the engine to confirm the installation was successful.
