If the sound you are hearing is more than a clunk instead of a pop, check the passenger side motor mount. I have experienced these vehicles have the motor mounts colapse and the engine bounces on the AWD axle tube. This results in a clunking sound that sounds like it is coming from the passenger side tire. The tube that the engine bounces on is the tube that the passenger side drive axle runs through. Replace both engine mounts. Replacing just one will cause the other one to fail.
Check for the part that is missing.
If the passenger side headlight on a 2001 Chevy Impala is dim, it may be time to change the bulb, or there is a problem with the wiring on that side.
