I started having tons of electrical problems and they told me it was a speed sensor. I. Would suggest you check for an oil leAk.
The speed sensor is located in the bottom front of the engine, it looks like a small distributor. the vSS Vehicle Speed Sensor is located next to the oil filter

I think you could. The vehicle speed sensor is next to the oil filter on a 1.8T engine, manual transmission. You could pull on the sensor cable while rotating the filter, and possibly damage the sensor. It's fairly easy to replace. Sensor cost is $20-50.
You can troubleshoot a faulty Caterpillar 3176 oil pressure sensor by replacing it with a new sensor. The new sensor should give you an accurate oil pressure reading.
