I had a 1989 Vanden Plas that drained the battery so bad I had to pop the hood and unhook the negative lead every day. Since I didn't have the funds to fix it I drove it like that for a year! Happily, my 1990 Soveriegn doesn't have the same problem.
I would take yours in for this fix. Chasing down electrical shorts is not for the backyard mechanic.
