The T-350 needs a stout, odd shaped conical shaped little spring in the 1-2 shift valve stack up to allow full manual control. No spring and the the tranny will lock up in manual low gear and the vehicle will not move.
Manual transmission: Clutch Automatic transmission: possibly low transmission fluid
I have an 86 and it is. If first gear is not really low, it probably is.
The first gear in a car with a manual transmission is used to start the car moving from being stopped and to climb steep grades at a low speed.
transmission wont shift from low to high very good
If it's an automatic transmission the linkage needs to be adjusted. On a manual transmission when it pops out of gear it means there may be a bad synchronize for that gear a mechanic will need to repair. Once in a while a manual transmission will start doing this if it is low on gear oil.
Low transmission fluid Overheated fluid, too low capacity or a blown tranny If it is a manual, you might wanna replace the clutch.
If your TH350 transmission won't shift into forward gears, it could be due to several issues, such as low transmission fluid levels, a clogged filter, or a malfunctioning shift linkage. Additionally, internal problems like worn clutches or a faulty valve body can also prevent proper shifting. Checking fluid levels and the condition of the filter is a good first step, but further diagnostics may be necessary to identify more complex internal issues. If you're unsure, consulting a professional mechanic is recommended.
NOPE, manual transmission you usually shouldn't run low on oil in a stick. If you really would like to check you can follow what it says in the owners manual where it says to check it by taking out the filler bolt and see if the oil is level with the filler hole.....
Should be a plug on the side of transmission Low fluid might have caused the sychonizers (?) to overheat
There are many reasons why a car is hard to shift when there is a manual transmission. The clutch is one of the main reasons why a car is not shifting properly. Another reason could be that the transmission is low on fluid.
most manual transmissions have 2 plugs - one high and one low. The low one is for draining, and the higher one is for filling - it's kind of tricky to get it in there without making a huge mess.
first off if it is a manual transmission it is on the transmission underneath the car. if its an automatic chances are its under the hood on the left (passenger) side it has a very short yellow handle dipstick and is very low and hard to see first off if it is a manual transmission it is on the transmission underneath the car. if its an automatic chances are its under the hood on the left (passenger) side it has a very short yellow handle dipstick and is very low and hard to see
