1st. check your fluid level. make sure to read dipstick for proper direction on doing this, all vehicles are not checked the same. if fluid level is correct then you should go to a well known transmission shop and have them check it out
Obviously, switching from the Drive gear to the N gear while driving wears down the transmission, but it DOES give you higher gas mileage. Just how much the transmission is worn down due to this depends on how much you switch between the gears. I wouldn't recommend it as it does shorten the life of your transmission, and the transmission costs more than the money you'd save on gas.
No. This gear is there to provide you with a gear that gives you better gas mileage. It may not be the best gear to use while city driving.
That would be your transmission. It may be slipping, or you may be lossing a gear. Have it checked.
Check the transmission fluid level.
There are several things that can cause your transmission to slip, while first pulling out. The most common cause is a worn drive gear.
To shift into 2nd gear in a manual transmission vehicle, first press the clutch pedal all the way down with your left foot. Then, move the gear shifter from 1st gear to the neutral position. Finally, release the clutch slowly while gently pressing the gas pedal to smoothly engage 2nd gear.
Sounds like transmission needs to be overhauled
The car might have an automatic cut off to either disengage the transmission or cut off the engine. Otherwise you will rip apart the transmission.
Yes, but be wary of dropping it back into 'Drive' while you are still rolling and engine RPM is low. This will not be good for the transmission.
it is for normal driving it allows the transmission to work normally 2 will not let the transmission shift up from second gear and l will keep it in low gear
Assuming you're driving a car with a manual transmission, the problem may be worn shifter linkages. Does it tend to pop out of some gears more often than others? While in gear, does the shifter feel loose with lots of free play? You'll have to check the linkages between the shifter and transmission to id Save entify worn bushings to be repaired/replaced.
When you are driving a car with a manual transmission, you do not move at the normal, rapid speed of driving until you have shifted into 3rd gear. So metaphorically, you can say that to do something with a suitable speed involves getting in gear.
