check the turn signal flasher unit itself, believe turn and emergency flasher are the same on the camery. good luck
I would check the switch inside the steering column.
The button that turns the flashers on is located on the steering column directly behind the steering wheel. It is located on the top or bottom right depending on model. The flashers themselves are your turn signals working in unision.
what do i try next? i tried a new flasher on the steering column. my flashers work, but turn signals don't.
There are 2 one under the dash near the steering column for the turn signals one under the glove box for the emergency flashers (switch in glove box)
Bad switch in steering column? diffrent fuses.
Probably a wiring issue between the turn signal and the lights.
The emergency flashers for the 1997 Mercury Cougar are on top of the steering column behind the wheel.
You may find that the turn signal switch in the steering wheel is bad.
You may have a relay problem your flashers and turn signal are on different relays or there could be a problem with the wiring in the steering column that goes to the turn signal
When I drive, the turn signals work fine when I'm not tilting the steering wheel. So if I were you, I'd get your car checked out.
