A good example of future shock would be a someone who has come from a culture where technology of this era is neither non existent or has so little interaction with them that they have no knowledge. Imagine someone from a EXTREMELY insulated Amish community exposed to the internet, computers, telephones, self driving cars, etc. To them, it would be so dramatic and completely outside of their world view, that it would cause them to temporarily reject or disconnect. There would be no previous experience to prepare them for such a radical change. Future Shock is basically the inablity to adapt to a constantly advancing / changing technological environment.
