they are called witness marks. Line them up together when assembling the pump
There is a cover on the pump that will reveal the pump marks. The engine marks are on the rear housing and flywheel.
If you have the 22r engine, it is at the top of the front passenger side of the engine near the timing cover. If you have a 22RE then the pump is in the tank.
align the crankshaft pulley mark with mark on oil pump housing, and align marks on cam gears with marks on rear cover, then install timing belt.
Inside the gas tank
The crank mark is inline with the key facing straight up timing marks on diesel pump and oil pump you take the thin metal covers off both gears only the covers not the gears there are x1 hole in each gear that you screw a bolt with a 12mm head on it to lock them in place.
How do I align the arrows on the gears for a oil pump on a 1992 toyota 22 RE engine? wsbahr@gmail.com
To install the injector pump on an Isuzu 4BD1 engine, align the timing marks on the pump with the timing marks on the engine. Typically, the pump drive gear has a mark that should be aligned with a corresponding mark on the engine's timing cover. Additionally, ensure that the crankshaft is at top dead center (TDC) on the compression stroke of cylinder one. Proper alignment is crucial for optimal engine performance and to avoid timing issues.
where are the timing marks on diesel pump on a 4630 John Deere tractor
To time the diesel pump for a 66L engine, first, ensure that the engine is at top dead center (TDC) on the compression stroke for the first cylinder. Next, align the timing marks on the pump drive and the engine to ensure proper synchronization. Adjust the pump's position as necessary to match these marks, and then securely fasten the pump in place. Finally, double-check the timing by cranking the engine to confirm proper operation.
To set the fuel pump timing on a Mitsubishi Pajero 2.8, first, ensure the engine is at top dead center (TDC) on the compression stroke for cylinder one. Next, remove the fuel pump cover and align the timing marks on the pump with the marks on the engine. Adjust the pump's position until the marks are aligned, then secure the pump in place. Finally, recheck the timing to ensure it remains aligned after tightening.
