A continious dull banging coming from the wheel when turning
Signs of a faulty CV joint are CLICKS coming from the front of the vehicle while performing sharp turns. To really put this to the test, you should drive backwards in tight circles, if you hear any clicking you have a bad CV somewhere you should be able to tell which side of the car it is coming from. Try not to drive very far on a bad CV joint, because you could become stuck out in the middle of nowhere!
Yes you have two drive axles that use 2 CV joints, both have an inner CV joint and an Outer CV joint
Yes, there are 2 of them. Nearside (LHS) on short driveshaft, Offside (RHS) on long driveshaft. Typically not available from motor factors as a separate item, may have to buy a complete drive shaft to repair. Symptoms of faulty inner CV joint: Vibration when driving above a certain speed, which offens goes away when under load, and gets worse when the accelerator is lifted.

if it is when you turn a corner, it is probably your outer cv joint, if it is when you are driving in a straight line it is probably your inner cv joint. axels
Bad inner CV joint?
It has two shafts that have an inner and outer joint each. That totals four CV joints.
CV (Constant-Velocity) joint
Use a CV joint pulling tool connected to a slide hammer. Don't repeatedly hit the CV joint with anything else, as you may cause damage to the bearings or the cage. If that happens, you'll be replacing the entire joint very soon.
I have just fitted both CV boots on a 1994 Peugeot 106. Though I only needed the outer one replacing I had to remove the inner CV joint to slip the boot over the outer CV bell end. As a result I had to replace inner boot and metal sleeve also. Remove wheel and brake caliper, remove caliper frame and ABS cable.Separate tie rod end and ball joint from steering knuckle. Remove hub nut and pull knuckle away from outer cv joint. Insert a thin pry bar between cv inner and transaxle case and jerk it to loosen cv joint. Re-install in reverse order.
