Most likely it is low Power Steering fluid. Check fluid and see if noise goes away.

could be struts and or strut brg plate that mounts the strut at the top
could be the power steering belt, axle going bad. power steering pump it self could also be bad.
If it is a front wheel drive sometimes a bad cv joint can cause a popping sound when you are turning.
c/v axle is bad if its front wheel drive
you need power steering fluid.
