If a timing belt breaks on a VW T4 the same as most other vehicles it could severly damage the engine as the pistons, valves and camshaft are no longer in sync and will hit each other. Normally the above results in bent and damged valves at the very least.

How do you change vw t4 alternator belt?

To change the alternator belt on a VW T4, first, ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the engine is off. Remove any necessary covers to access the alternator, then loosen the tensioner bolt to relieve tension on the belt. Slide the old belt off and replace it with the new one, ensuring it's properly seated on all pulleys. Finally, adjust the tensioner to apply the correct tension to the new belt and reassemble any covers.

To change the auxiliary belt tensioner on a VW T4 with an ACV engine, first, ensure the vehicle is safely raised and secured. Remove the engine cover and loosen the tensioner by rotating it in the direction indicated (usually clockwise) using a suitable tool. Once the tension is released, remove the belt from the pulleys and detach the tensioner by unbolting it. What hormone can result in a goiter?

It is a hormone called T4, or thyroxin. What would normally happen is that Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) from the anterior pituitary would stimulate the thyroid to release T4. When enough T4 is produced, it inhibits TSH, or thyroid stimulating hormone, from being secreted. However if enough T4 is not released to inhibit TSH (probably due to an iodine deficiency), then TSH keeps on secreting, overstimulating the thyroid and causing the swelling known as goiter.

Why are they reluctant to do the thyroid T4 test?

The old Total T4 test (TT4) is no longer considered the best way to test for T4 levels. T4 and T3 can both be bound by other proteins and hormones in the body. When this happens, the T4 or T3 is not usable by the body. The body can only use T4 and T3 that is not bound, or free. For this reason, Free T4, which only tests the free levels of the hormone, is now preferred over Total T4 testing as more accurate.
