One or both shoes are stuck out. Emergency brake is on just a little bit or it needs adjustment. It may not be the brakes but the wheel bearing going bad and heating up and the heat transferring to the drum.
it was the e brake line was to tiet Shoes are touching the drum adjust back until freely rotating.
Brakes are adjusted too tight. Brakes are misassembled. Brake hose is restricted, holdings the brake on.
Sticky or stuck brake calipers. Sticky or stuck parking brake mechanism.
The friction of braking makes brake drums and discs very hot.
remove the boot, and tighten the adjuster nut. just don't over tighten it. your brakes will drag an overheat the drum :P
There could be several reasons such as, you forgot to release the e-brake and drove the vehicle with the e-brake on, or a grease seal went bad and grease is getting onto the hot brake drum or brake rotor, or brake fluid from a leaky wheel cylinder or caliper is getting onto the hot brake drum or brake rotor.
Hot spots are caused by over heating the rotors Causes: "riding" the brakes, faulty brake components, general abuse
Either your brakes are sticking or they are adjusted to much.
What's it smell like? A hot brake shoe? Check for proper brake adjustment -or- check for a weak return spring -or- check for partially applied emergency brake. Does it smell like hot metal or hot oil? Check for rear a bad rear wheel bearing. Is it a 4WD or 2WD? Check for proper level of fluid in differential.
You mean the rear disk brake if yes yes it should get hot which means that it is doing it's job
Friction between the brake pads and the wheel drum causes the build up of heat in the braking system. Use a lower gear when descending a steep hill.
make sure it's not the rear brakes hanging up, see if they feel hot, if you have drum brakes on the back a wheel cylinder could be hanging up.
