ticking sound can be caused by the hydraulic tappet lifters being warn.also can be caused by low oil level or wrong viscosity oil.also can be caused by a dry distributer shaft. if distributor cap is removed you will see a little felt bad against the distributor shaft
if this is dry, apply couple of drops of oil to the pad.this will then lubricate the shaft and stop the noise if this is where it is coming from.
another cause could be arcing from plug leads. this is hard to see in daylight. in a dark shed or at night, open hood, start engine then look for arcing from plug wires. this will look like small sparks.if this is the case, generally if you clean dirt and grime off the plugs leads this will stop. if it doesnt, replace the leads
The most likely cause of a ticking sound in a motor is a bad timing belt. A valve out of time can also cause a ticking sound.
Your valves need adjustment. Take it to your preferred mechanic.
you need to adjust the valves
Sometimes a ticking sound is a valve lifter. The faster you go the faster the ticking will be. Make sure first it is not something stuck in a tire or something on the fan belt.
Not enough power to starter motor.
It can be a hole in your exhaust system or it can have something to do with your engine.
The ticking sound is coming from the valve lifters. When the oil filter is changed, air is introduced into the system, which causes air bubbles to form in the oil. This causes the valve lifters to "leak down", which is what causes the ticking sound. It can take several days for the bubbles to dissipate. It's annoying, but harmless.
Normally loose tappets will cause a ticking sound in the engine. Depending on if you have mechanical or hydraulic tappets you may need to have them replaced or simply adjusted.
Hopefully just a valve lash adjustment.
I don't know, take your car for a check up and tell them about it...
Lack of oil lubrication to lifters
there is a dust cover behind the front rotors they sumtimes bend slightly and it causes the ticking and crackling
