Electrical circuit is broken. No electricity and the engine will not run.
When the key is turned off. When the key is turned off.
Because you turned the key.
THERE IS A RELAY ON THE SHUT OFF AND SOMETIMES IT DOES NOT RESET AFTER THE KEY IS SHUT OFF .ORIGINALLY WHEN YOU TURNED YOUR TRACTOR OFF AND ENGINE STOPPED YOU WOULD HEAR A CLICK.THIS WAS THE SHUT OFF RELAY RESETTING
Could be a bad bulb Could be a bad voltage regulator (circuit not opening on engine shut down)
The key has to be turned to the "Run" position, but the engine should not be running. The key has to be on to power up the ECU.
It is not supposed to be on when engine is running unless there is a problem.
It's lean. Could be something plugged in the carb.
something you might check, i had the similar thing happen a couple years ago with a Pontiac grand am that i had. turned out the the ignition control module was cracked, and the heat from the engine would shut the module down
The key is not supposed to stay in the 'On' position when starting a 1994 Z24. When a person starts a vehicle, the key is turned to the far right. When the engine starts the key automatically goes one section to the left. If the key is turning too far and making the engine shut off, then the ignition has to be changed.
The fan can run after you shut the engine down because the engine had overheated. If it stops after a few minutes this is what is happening. If it runs continuously, then the thermal relay is stuck, replace it.
if this is turbo you could have to much oil in and it gets into the turbo and will run on its own
On a carburated vehicle the power to the distributor and coil is cut off when the key is turned off causing it not to fire.
