Ok, First, 95 what? -- Had 92 Honda Accord LX with a burnt R41 Resistor in the A/T Control unit... Located in the floor - under passenger glove box... A/T Box is the one on the right... the other is ECU -- OR.... possibly a vacuum sensor. Do you have any SHIFT indicators sticking when in L2 L1???? IE D or OD light on - while shifter is actually in L1 - L2? Fun stuff.. No kidding about the resistor... A/T CU new -$666. Resistor $2.19.
Have Fun.
your transmission could be shot. if it will not shift at all, then you will need a new one.
Depends on year of truck if it doesn't have over drive and even then maybe there is a vacuum line going to shift module on trans mission check and see and if so see if it came off at transmission and if not trace it up to motor
something is wrong in the transmission. It will have to be diagnosed. You probably have a bad shift solenoid in the tranny.
It means you have an electronic transmission control problem. Quite possibly a shift solenoid in the transmission. It will be impossible to determine a fix until the system is scanned and diagnosed to find out what is wrong. It could be your vehicle speed sensor.
There could be a number of reasons why your truck will not shift properly. There could be something wrong with your clutch or transmission.
It sounds like a transmission problem rather than an engine problem.
If the ABS light is on, it quite possible that the computer will not allow the transmission to shift into OD until the problem is repaired. Go to a good repair shop or your nearest dealer.
It shows that there is a problem with the transmission. Just like the check engine light, the overdrive light has codes that tell you what is wrong with the transmission and the various components connected with it.
Rough idle could be: spark plugs(worn or wrong gap), plug wires, vacuum leaks, wrong ignition timing, uneven or low compression. Transmission trouble--check fluid level.
If this is an automatic transmission, which I am assuming it is it will not work the same as a standard. Only drive it in overdrive or 1st gear.
Take it in. There is either a problem with your transmission or with the overdrive switch itself. Overdrive switch should be a lot cheaper to fix. I'm assuming the light not only goes on, but the overdrive physically turns off as well when the light is on.
Type your answer here... My Allison transmission will only down shift, whats wrong with it?
