Hi,
This means that the engine computer has detected some kind of problem with the engine control systems or perhaps the emission systems.
In order to find out what was detected, you would need a code reader to find out what Diagnostic Test Code (DTC) is stored in the computer. Most code readers come with a book that will help decode the DTC. Once you know the code, you will know what system or systems to look at that could be causing the light. It will still have to be diagnosed, but it will point you in the right direction.
I have included a link to a list of some of the codes that you may see.
That means there is a problem with the emissions system are computer system. You need to have the engine scanned with a engine scanner to find out what is wrong.
Generally it means you have your foot on the brake pedal.
It might need a new air filter Go to the local auto parts store pull the codes and see what they say it means.
It most likely means you have a bad O2 (oxygen) sensor, to be completely sure, I would take it somewhere and have an OBD2 scan done on it. Hope this was some help.
Do you mean the GM (chev, etc) 3.1 V6? It's a throttle body injection engine with no choke.
my chev aveo cant get a spark to the coil. What could be the problem?

Do you mean the Pontiac Astra, the sister to Chev Vega? 2300 cc engine, if so, 90 hp.
Assuming you mean the engine oil drain plug, it can be found at the lowest point of the engine oil pan.
It is important to know what the warning lights mean on a cars dashboard. The warning light that looks like an engine, is the Check engine light, it means there is a problem within the engine.
why does the engine light remain on after starting
An engine cylinder misfire has been detected if your check engine light is flashing
