In an automobile engine :
Over Head Valve ( its a pushrod design engine )
2000 was the last year for the 4.0 L - OHV
OHV stands for over head valve. It's not a brand name.
OHV is ( Over Head Valve ) that's a pushrod design engine ( my 1995 Ford Explorer has the 4.0 liter EFI , V6 engine which is the OHV engine , the 8th " character " of the VIN is an "X" SOHC is the Single Over Head Cam engine ( in the case of a Ford Explorer with the 4.0 liter SOHC , V6 engine . There is ( 1 ) camshaft on the top of each of the two cylinder heads ( VIN " E " , if it isn't a flex fuel engine )
The 3.0 liter " Vulcan " V6 engine is an OHV design ( EFI is Electronic Fuel Injection , I believe ) The 3.0 liter " Duratec " V6 engine is the DOHC design
No , SFI means Sequential Fuel Injection and OHV means that it is an Over Head Valve ( pushrod style engine )
Yes same long block
Either the 2.3 L - SOHC - 4 cylinder , the 2.9 L - OHV - V6 , or the 4.0 L - OHV - V6
The 4.0 liter OHV has cast iron heads , the 4.0 liter SOHC has aluminum heads
yes
All of it.
The Owner Guide shows a 3.9 liter - OHV - V6 engine or a 4.2 liter - OHV - V6 engine
