probably that it is low and what is left is moving around inside making the light blink. Or it is getting hot. Hose the oil cooler out, if it has a fan make sure it is kicking on when it gets hot.
Had the same problem and changed the Variable Speed Sensor and it solved the problem for me. I have a 1994 Accord LX sedan.
