your engine quits, starved of fuel .
The engine will not run.
Mounted on the side of the engine if it has one. Follow the fuel line as it goes to the pump. If the fuel line goes to the carburetor then it does not have a pump and is gravity fed.
If the fuel pump relay is defective the fuel pump will not run.
They don't go bad they just get clogged. Your engine will starve for fuel and your fuel pump will get hot and self destruct trying to pump fuel through a clogged filter. Replace the filter every 36,000 miles.
Fuel pump strainer goes on the end of the fuel pump assembly inside the fuel tank.
No but, if the crank sensor goes bad you lose the fuel pump and spark.
If the fuel pump relay goes bad your fuel pump will not get power and you will get no fuel. If your fuel pressure is showing too low your pump is either weak and needs to be replaced, your fuel lines are restricted somewhere ( or possibly leaking ) or your fuel filter needs to be replaced.
The Chevrolet Lumina fuel pump is powered by the electrical system. The fuel pump has a ground wire and a positive wire. The positive wire goes to the fuel pump relay switch.
fuel pump will not run... no fuel to the engine.
The gas pedal doesn't feel any different when the fuel pump goes out. If your fuel pump goes out, you'll know because your car won't start and stay on for you.
I would guess a failing fuel pump or clogged fuel filter.
Possibly..Could also be the fuel pump or the plug-in on the fuel pump has melted, or the fuel pump relay, or the fuse that goes to the fuel pump, or even the fuse the goes to the computer(ECM) or maybe even a wire leading to the fuel pump has gotten damaged... Could also be wires leading to the injectors came unpluged/damaged.
