BAS (Blind Spot Alert System) and ESP (Electronic Stability Program) are safety features displayed on the Pacifica dashboard. BAS helps detect vehicles in the driver's blind spot, providing visual and audible alerts to enhance awareness while changing lanes. ESP aids in maintaining vehicle control by detecting loss of traction and automatically applying brakes to individual wheels when necessary. Both alerts are crucial for improving driving safety and preventing collisions.
There is a failure in the electronic stability or brake assist system.
The ESP BAS light in your 2008 Chrysler Pacifica Touring typically indicates an issue with the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) or the Brake Assist System (BAS). Common causes may include a malfunctioning wheel speed sensor, issues with the ABS system, or problems with the steering angle sensor. It's advisable to have the vehicle scanned for diagnostic trouble codes to pinpoint the exact issue and ensure proper repairs are made. Ignoring the light could affect vehicle stability and safety, so addressing it promptly is recommended.
In most cases it means one of the wheel speed sensors has gone bad and needs to be replaced.

center your steering wheel
The ABS (anti lock brake) computer has detected a fault in the ESP (electronic skid protection) or BAS (brake assist system). You will need to have the system checked for codes to know possible causes.
Its probably a stop lamp switch, most common part for a esp/bas/abs lights. but can also be bas travel sensor, ect.
Could be failed brake light switch
To turn off the ESP, BAS, and ABS warning lights on your dashboard, first check for any underlying issues such as low brake fluid, faulty wheel speed sensors, or issues with the ABS system. Address any mechanical problems or replace faulty components. After resolving these issues, you can reset the warning lights using an OBD-II scanner or by disconnecting the car battery for a few minutes, but ensure you have the radio code if applicable. If the lights persist, it's best to consult a professional mechanic for diagnosis.
ESP on Jeeps and most newer vehicles stands for electronic stability program. ESP includes such functions as traction control, ESC (electronic stability control), and BAS . BAS stands for brake assist control. All of these functions help control the jeep when the computer senses wheel slip, it corrects itself by reducing engine power and/or applying the brakes any given wheel. When the ESP light is flashing that means the system is active, when the light is solid, the ESP system has turned off the ESC and traction control, BUT NOT BAC!! The only way to turn off the ESP completely is to pull the 20amp abs fuse.
it can be low brake fluid levels as it was in mine
