Im in Belize a tempr of 32 degrees cels or 86 F. i have been recommended a 15w40 oil for a Ford Ranger. Is it logical?

Use exactly what your Ford owners manual lists as the recommended weight oil. It Ford recommends 5W30 then use that 5w30. It Ford recommends 15w40 then use 15w40. The outside temperature in the area where you live really has no effect on the weight oil you should use unless it is extremely cold or extremely hot, which it is not. Remember the temperatures inside the combustion chamber can reach over one thousand degrees. The rest of the engine will operate at a temperature of over 200 degrees Fahrenheit.
