A solenoid is a coil of wire that generates a magnetic field when an electric current flows through it. This magnetic field can be used to create motion, typically by moving a plunger or armature within the coil. Solenoids are commonly used in various applications, such as electro-mechanical switches, locking mechanisms, and automotive starters, where they convert electrical energy into linear motion.
The solenoid force equations used to calculate the magnetic force generated by a solenoid are given by the formula F N I B L, where F is the force, N is the number of turns in the solenoid, I is the current flowing through the solenoid, B is the magnetic field strength, and L is the length of the solenoid.

Where is the vent vale solenoid on a 2006 Chevy silverado 1500 4.8 L
Automatic trans. on Neons used to have problems with the solenoid packs sticking. Check to see if you have a transmission controller code. If it has a code for L/R solenoid stuck in L or R poistion, put a solenoid pack in it. It might just be that the trans needs to be overhauled.
you will need to remove pillion and riders seats first , which on a vs1400 covers a mass of wires that run down the mudguard , the solenoid valve is under the connector block holder on the L H side of the frame , this can be shorted across terminals to quickly override solenoid and test starter motor, the L H cover will need to be removed to access and replace solenoid good luck jinx
The force of a solenoid with a current of 5 amps flowing through it can be calculated using the formula F BIL, where F is the force, B is the magnetic field strength, I is the current, and L is the length of the solenoid.
on the forrester it is located in the front of the engine about 50cm from the radiator near the center
