it means starting of diesel engine
The recommended cold cranking amps for a 7.3 diesel engine is typically around 850-1000 CCA to ensure reliable starting in cold weather conditions. It's important to check your diesel engine's specific requirements to find the most suitable battery.
Keep cranking it.
Batteries are basically the same for petrol or deisel engines, but diesel engines require more cranking force and demand a bigger battery. So a battery from a diesel engine is ok for petrol, providing it fits.
Diesel, being a liquid, is non-compressible, and since a diesel engine needs to compress air for (adiabatic) ignition, it won't be able to compress it, so it will jam the engine. Unlike gasoline, it will take a long time for the diesel inside to evaporate, so the vehicle is stuck until you fix it. This can be remedied on most diesel engines by arduously loosening or removing the injectors and then draining by suction or by cranking the engine until enough is squirted out to allow the engine to turn over.
It would depend on the engine type, petrol or Diesel. Essentially for an engine to work, you need two or three conditions to be met. 1)Fuel 2)Compression 3)Spark (petrol engine only). In addition to this the engine needs to be spun by the starter motor (or push start) at sufficient speed. In order to answer the question without writing pages and pages of text, more information is needed. 1)Petrol or Diesel engine 2)Battery condition and cranking speed (if cranking at-all) 3)Noise whilst cranking the engine. 4)Circumstances leading up to the failure to start. Diesel engines need more cranking power than what one battery provides.Diesel engines need more cranking power than what one battery provides.
You need to specify whether petrol or diesel. Worn spark plugs(petrol) or faulty heater plugs(diesel) can affect starting,as can the battery if the engine is not cranking fast enough or insufficient amps to provide a good spark when cranking.
because diesel are very high compresion, it takes alot more cranking power for a diesel that a gas motor
