How to adjust carborator on Husqvarna Chain Saw
The point gap would probably be about .016-.018". The actual specification is 30 degrees dwell, which must be checked with a dwell meter. Spark plug gap is .030"
Setting in the seat of the lawn tractor, it is on the front and right side of the motor close to the hinge area for the hood of the lawn tractor. You will see a black wire about the diameter of a pencil that slips over the plug. _____ |_____|\ o\ < - it will be angled (where the o is) from the front and the side of the motor.
If you have a stock Husqvarna 345 with .325 pitch chain you would need a 3/16" file. http://store.chainsawr.com/
Check distributor cap and rotor for moisture and/or carbon tracks. Then check the condition of spark plug wires including the coil wire. Then check the operation and function of the choke and accelerator pump in carburetor.
If you lean over a fender and look at the front of the valve covers on both sides of The engine. You will notice that 1 valve cover is futher forward then the other. That will be #1 cylinder on that head. The first spark plug up front. Be advised that the 345 International V8 is timed by #8 cylinder NOT #1 cylinder. The #8 cylinder is the rear most cylinder on the passenger side.
345 = 345
PULL spark plug out of # 8 cylinder.....Bring up number 8 piston .. The timing marks should be on TDC.. pop distributor cap off ...rotor will be pointing to #8. if you are looking down at cap....1 is counter clockwise .....next to eight.
15% of 345= 15% * 345= 0.15 * 345= 51.75
There are 345 ones in 345.
