Usually 10,000 ohms per foot.
Spark plug wire not connected to spark plug? Spark plug wire connected to Wrong spark plug? Vacuum line disconnected? Bad spark plug or wire?
If you mean that the wire came out of the boot, then pull the boot off of the spark plug and use a spark plug socket to remove the spark plug.
bad spark plug wire.
Spark plug wires can go bad in several ways. They can develop shorts, or they can just build up resistance. To test for shorts, go out at night and open your hood and let your engine run. If you see little flashes, or hear pops, you probably have cracked wires that need to be replaces. To test for high resistance, you need a multimeter that can test for ohms (the resistance between two points.) You take off the spark plug wire and touch one probe of your multimeter to one end of the plug wire, and the other probe to the other end. Normal plug wire resistance should be 10,000 to 15,000 ohms per foot of length. If it is higher, it is probably bad.
10 - 15 K ohms per foot
No, Using a resistor spark plug with resistor wires can create too much resistance for the ignition system.
The rubber end on the spark plug wire.
no it can not start with a broken spark plug wire unless you fix it
Spark Plug Wires? Remove them 1 at a time from the spark plug to the distributor or the ION pack, remove and replace the spark plug, add the new spark plug wire from the newly added spark plug to the distributor or ION pack.
Remove the spark plug wire from the spark plug. Use some heavy gloves or a set of insulated pliers to hold the spark plug wire about 1/4-inch from the engine block (ground) and crank the engine - you should see a spark jump from the wire to the engine ground. For a better check, use another spark plug and put it on the spark plug wire and use it as a "jumper" from the wire to the engine ground.

Used proper sized spark plug socket with long extention and ratchet. Disconnect spark plug wire by using wire puller or tugging at boot of wire. Place spark plug socket over spark plug securely and removed.
