You should start out at 6-8 degrees btdc. The higher you can run without spark knock or detonation, the better performance the engine will have. A higher grade gasoline may allow up to 20 degrees advance of advance. For stock purposes, 6-8 is fine.
Pontiacs typically like 12-14 degrees initial timing. It's a good starting point.
Assuming you are running a point type distributor a Pontiac typically likes 12-14 degrees initial advance. This is also a good starting point for HEI.
Point gap is 0.019 Point Dwell is 28--32 ( DEGREES ) plug gap is 0.035 Timing is 4 to 8 degrees BTDC / Before Top Dead Center
The starting point would be the equator. Lines of latitude run parallel to the equator.
The equator is the starting point for measurements of latitude, at 0 degrees.
The angle around a point can be from 1 degrees to 360 degrees. Anything above 360 degrees is like starting over again from 1 degrees
The starting point of a thermometer is typically the lowest end of the temperature scale, which is usually labeled as 0 degrees Celsius or 32 degrees Fahrenheit, depending on the type of thermometer.
A latitude is measured in degrees from the equator to the north (or south) pole. I assume that you mean, "What is the line that forms the zero degrees latitude?" The answer is the Equator.
5 degrees before TDC
( 6 ) degrees BTDC for the manual transmission ( 12 ) degrees BTDC for the automatic transmission
To find the distributor starting point on a 1984 Ford 351 Club Wagon, first locate the distributor at the rear of the engine, near the firewall. The timing mark can usually be found on the harmonic balancer, and the timing pointer is located on the engine block. To set the initial timing, you may need to rotate the engine to the appropriate degrees before top dead center (TDC) on the compression stroke for the number one cylinder, aligning it with the timing pointer. Make sure to check the specifications for the correct timing setting for your particular engine.
The latitude at the starting point of the Nile River is 31 degrees north. The latitude of the end point of the Nile is 7 degrees south.
