The working oil pressure for the S13 SR20DET engine typically ranges from 10 to 15 psi at idle and can rise to about 40 to 70 psi at higher RPMs, depending on the engine's condition and temperature. It's important to ensure the oil is at the correct viscosity and that the oil pump is functioning properly to maintain optimal pressure. Regular monitoring can help prevent engine damage and ensure longevity.
If the oil light is working and is off with engine running, then you have oil pressure. To determine how much pressure, you need a pressure Gage.
If you have oil pressure it is working.
My guess is low or no oil pressure.
replace oil sensor unit
Two things to check: Is there any oil in the engine? Is the oil pump working? If you remove the dip stick while the engine is running you should get oil all over you if the pump is working.
If it is not working you have no oil pressure and the oil light will come on or the oil pressure gauge will drop to 0. You will also hear engine noise, as in, pecking, or knocking. Engine will also overheat very quickly.
Oil pressure test.
Oil pressure ( Minimum ) 1000 RPMs 6 LBS 2000 RPMs 18 LBS 4000 RPMs 24 LBS It must have at least that much oil pressure at these different RPMs to LUBE the engine. If it has 80 LBS are more then the oil pump check valve is not working correctly
Oil pressure should be 40 to 50 psi
the pressure
Turn off your vehicle, turn key to "run" press in on accelerator 4times in 3 seconds then turn the vehicle back on. should be off :) ---------------- In my case, was bad oil filter! try to change your oil and filter before making expensive tryout repairs!
I have no number on panel when icon checks oil pressure . please guide me what is problem
