Unless you have a loose connection on the multi-pin plug to the switch,causing arcing.The cause is probably overload on the wiper motor.Do the wipers appear to be slower than normal when operating?You could have a faulty motor,they don't last forever.If you remove the water deflector,(plastic moulding across front scuttle)you gain access to the motor and linkage.Try a drop of oil on each of the linkage pivot joints and down the wheelbox shafts under the wiper arms.Any tightness could cause fuse blowing overload.
