Instrument panels lights not coming on, try giving the glass in front of the dark section a rap with you knuckles or handle end of a screw driver, and see if it comes back on. If not, a bulb change might be in order.

I assume you are losing power to the instrument cluster, or losing a ground. The ignition switch also shares power with all of these lights. The instrument cluster power comes from the IPC/BFC ACC 10 amp fuse and also from the IPC/HVAC BATT 10 amp fuse both of these fuses are located on the left side of the dash.
