dirty fuel line
Sounds like a fuel delivery problem, either a plugged up fuel filter or incorrect fuel pressure.
You probably have something wrong with your engine, or brakes. You should really have that checked.
a slipping transmission, a bad tourqe converter, wrong firing order, wrong gap on the plugs, dist. cap put on wrong, to name a few.
If a car has a loud humming noise when accelerating, it could be that the air filter is missing. The air filter housing might also be loose. A loud humming noise can also be a signal that there is something wrong with the alternator belt or the fan belt.
It is very likely you have something wrong with your engine.
Adjust your carb, otherwise, it's a problem with gas getting to the carb while accelerating.

Timing issue. The PCM adjusts the timing, however a stock resin ECTS cracks giving the PCM wrong data. A new brass ECTS is needed
It could be Camshaft Position Sensor. This was happening to me as well and when I had this changed it worked fine. You might have ran into a deep snow or high water and on Dodge this sensor is positioned low so it could have got wet.
Might be a cracked vacumn hose, there are plenty, and the age is about right for this to happen.

not firing on all cylenders or timimg is wrong, maybe the timing belt jumped
