First of all you don't say which car and year. - Second, by the incorrect term "star wrench" you possibly mean Torx and they are almost never used on brake calipers. 99% of the time calipers are held by Allen screws or regular bolts.

10MM" WRONG!! Im in the middle of changing my brakes and 10MM does NOT fit. If i care enough i will post what works after i figure it out.
to remove the front brakes you need a 7mm hex socket and a 10 mm hex socket

when you pick up the brake pads at the part store they can tell youwhat size the torx bit is 48 ro 50 not sure
You need a 15 mm wrench.
You need a 13mm box wrench.
