If there is a clunking noise coming from the front of your car or truck, it could very well be the rotors. When rotors get worn, the warning sign is the clunk. It lets you know it's time to replace the rotors. If the noise is from engine compartment, listen for valve knock or sticky valve lifters or rocker arms at the valve covers. At the lower end of the engine, where the lowest pulley is, listen for water pump and main bearing clicks. On the alternator, listen for bearing failure. All components should emit a faint whir or rotation noise when working properly.
loose or bad u joints.
Have someone check your Engine mount
You probably need your bearings repacked
Possibly the sway bar bushings?
Bad Struts
Worn out front sway bar links or bushings can do that.
Possibly a worn engine and/or gearbox mounting or exhaust mounting
brakes are need to be replace
It is common to have a knocking or clunking noise of a 99 Nissan Altima, even after the struts have been replaced. This may be due to worn ball joints. It is best to replace the ball joints, too.
it would be the CB joint it it's a front wheel drive vehicle with high mileage.
sounds like the right front motor mount .i replaced mine and the clunking sound went away
Have the brakes checked.
