bearings inside your sterring colum need replacing
Get a heavier duty rearend. the tow capacity is based on the rearend. Chevy 10, 12, and 14 bolt rearend.
It could be brakes, bearings or something else altogether.
Perhaps excess bearing clearance?
it could be the idler puller rubbing on the bearings. we had to replace it on our 2006 Chevy trailblazer ext.

When my 2003 suburban did it. It turned out to be bearings. After replacing the bearings, no problems since. The bearing assembly has abs sensor attached.
You can use main bearings on a 1995 Chevy S10. The bearings can be purchased at most auto parts stores.
8.5 inch 10 bolt.
Near the bottom of the oil pan. There isn't really much point in replacing the oil pump without checking out the bearings. Get a little plastiguage and check the bearing tolerances. You can't do any good replacing the oil pump if the bearings are worn.
