On a Dodge 360 engine, the number 1 spark plug wire typically starts at the distributor cap at the terminal located at the 5 o'clock position when the cap is oriented with the rotor pointing to the number 1 cylinder. The firing order for the 360 is usually 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. Ensure the engine is at top dead center (TDC) on the compression stroke for cylinder number 1 when setting the timing and routing the wires.
To find the number 1 plug wire on the distributor cap of a 440 Dodge engine, start by locating the distributor and the cap. The number 1 cylinder is typically the driver's side front cylinder (nearest the radiator). From there, follow the rotor's rotation direction (usually counterclockwise) and place the number 1 wire in the corresponding position on the cap, then continue placing the other wires in the proper firing order.

There is no distributor on it. There is a coil pack, you can follow the spark plug wires to it.
The 4.7L does not have a distributor, it has a coil on each plug.
The marked # 1 position on the distributor cap faces to the FRONT / CENTER
On the 383 Dodge , # 1 on the distributor cap faces to the front and slightly towards the passenger side
