The Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor in a 2004 Dodge Ram is typically located in the intake manifold or the air intake duct, often near the air filter or throttle body. Its primary function is to measure the temperature of the air entering the engine, which helps the engine control module optimize fuel delivery and ignition timing. To locate it, you may need to follow the air intake path from the air filter to the manifold.
The positive wires for IAT sensor on a dodge ram are the red ones. The black wires are are ones that serve as the negative cables.Ê

The second runner will be located a few inches from the front of the intake manifold on the left side. The IAT sensor is located inside of this runner.
