Negative battery cable - a solid metal part of the engine
When installing the alternator on a 1982 280ZX 2+2 non-turbo, the main wire from the alternator connects to the positive terminal of the battery, typically via a junction point on the starter or battery cable. The smaller wire, often a plug connector, connects to the alternator's field terminal. Additionally, ensure the ground is securely attached to the engine block or alternator housing. Always refer to a repair manual for detailed wiring diagrams specific to your vehicle.

yes
On a 1982 Nissan 280ZX, the voltage regulator is typically located on the alternator itself. It is often integrated within the alternator housing, making it less accessible than standalone regulators found in other vehicles. If you need to replace it, you may have to remove the alternator from the engine bay. Always consult the vehicle's service manual for detailed information and diagrams.
The 1981 Nissan 280ZX was available without a turbo (NA) and with a turbo. With the turbo Nissan only offered an automatic transmission for this year. It was the first year for the Z series to have a turbo.

Yes, mine does have fuel injectors.
No it will not bolt up.
Nope, im looking for it also but for a Datsun 280ZX Nissan and Datsun are the same thing, however if you have the Chilton's Repair Manual for the NISSAN Z&ZX 1970-1988(which you should) I believe it's number 52800, you can find the vacuum diagram in section 4 page 26 That diagram is for a N/A 280ZX and only for the emmissions. I need a complete diagram for a 280ZX Turbo, 1981. I have the Automatic Climate Control and it is a California model. Can anyone help?
