Clutch switches are usually located at the top of the clutch pedal.
The neutral safety switch is located on the transmission.
The neutral safety switch on a Dodge Dakota will keep the engine from starting when the truck is in gear. It is located in the transmission case.
YesYes
A manual transmission does not have a neutral switch. It has a clutch switch, which is on the rod that attaches to the clutch pedal.
Dodge does not use inertia/ reset switches.
Dead short to ground in the clutch safety switch?
The neutral safety switch is on the side of the transmission. It screws into the side and has a small three wire plug.
Under the dash, either on the pedal arm or the clutch rod.
Driver side, just above the oil pan.
Rotate the switch on the rod for the master cylinder for the clutch. Take out the retaining clip. Remove the clutch pedal position switch from the rod. Disconnect the electrical plug. Plug the new clutch pedal position switch in and installation is the reverse of removal
I pulled the carpet kit out of my 96 dodge 1500 and now the truck will not start. I can only assume it has something to do with the clutch safety switch being somehow interrupted. any ides on how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.
