I have a 1999 dodge avenger es and my crank sensor was under the battery housing. Remove the battery and the housing and look underneath if it is like mine it sits on top of the transmission housing. Its attached with one bolt. Easy fix. My sensor cost me 60 dollars. Good luck.....

The crankshaft position sensor on a Dodge Avenger is typically located near the bottom of the engine, often on the engine block near the crankshaft or flywheel. In many models, it can be accessed from the front of the engine, often near the timing cover. It's advisable to consult the vehicle's service manual for the exact location, as it may vary slightly depending on the engine type and year.
Check for trouble codes. Possible cam or crank sensor.
