You will have to remove starter, It is behind the starter in the block.

The 1999 Chevy Lumina 3.1 liter engine crankshaft position sensor is located on the back of the crankshaft. A diagram can be obtained from most Chevrolet dealerships.
The crankshaft sensor shold be on the engine block about midway on the back side.
Some of the Chevy Blazers were made without the crankshaft sensor. You should have a cam sensor that works the same way. It is located on the passenger side under the 2nd spark plug from the front.
