Behind the driver, inside the left frame beam.
I own a 1990 GMC Sierra 1500 5.7L V8. My fuel filter is located along the frame rail under the cab on the driver's side of the truck. You might look there for the filter on your 1989 Sierra. It's an inline silver colored canister.
drop the fuel tank. Bummer huh. :)
inside the fuel tank
The 1999 GMC 1500 PU equipped with the 5.0L V8 have an undercar in-line EFI filter. The filter is located directly upstream of the fuel tank in the gasoline line going to the engine. The OEM AC Delco replacement fuel filter is #GF652.
its dirrectly under the driver side against the frame rail
On the 2011 GMC Sierra 1500, the fuel filter is located inside the fuel tank as part of the fuel pump module. This design means that the fuel filter is not easily accessible for replacement, and if it needs to be changed, the entire fuel pump assembly typically needs to be removed from the tank. Regular fuel system maintenance, including using quality fuel, can help prolong the life of the filter.
Unfortunately it is built into the fuel pump which is located in the tank. Good luck
where is the fuel filter located on 1996 dodge ram 1500 5.9L
Trace your fuel lines from the gas tank along the inside of your frame rail. It should be located about 2 or 3 feet from the tank.
no outside fuel filter. inside fuel tank part of pump assy.
The fuel filter is located under the driver side door under the cab between the frame and the cab door, it's about half the size of a soda can.
The fuel filter is part of the pump module in the fuel tank on a 2004 Ram 1500.
