I think it's on the frame, under the drivers seat.
yes it is
how do you replace a fuel filter on a 1985 G.M.C. High Sierra
inside the fuel tank
they do not have a cabin air filter
tank in the fuel tank.
near the front differential
I do not have a Z71, but my 2004 GMC does not have a fuel filter, very strange because when i go to a parts store they have one listed.
The fuel filter is located along the frame under the cab. it only take 5 mins to change. if there is no in-line fuel filter you must drop the fuel tank there is a filter on the fuel pump and you have to replace the whole pump you can not remove that filter it is a single unit.
fuel filter
A 96 GMC Sierra won't stay running if the fuel filter is clogged or water is in the gas tank. Replacing the filter allows for proper fuel flow to be restored to the engine.
Because the fuel filter is located inside the fuel tank and is part of the fuel pump module. The fuel filter by itself is not serviceable.
The fuel filter should be located on the driver side frame rail underneath the cab of the truck.
I own a 1990 GMC Sierra 1500 5.7L V8. My fuel filter is located along the frame rail under the cab on the driver's side of the truck. You might look there for the filter on your 1989 Sierra. It's an inline silver colored canister.
