it depends on whether your fuel pump is an electrical fuel pump or a mechanical fuel pump. is you enegine still carburated or fuel injected? on carb engines, the fuel pump (mechanical) will be in the front of the engine behind the belts on the left side. make sure to get the fuel pump lever under the small control are within the fuel pump location. If it is a electrical fuel pump it will be located either within the fuel tank or somewhere inline near the carb or under the cab.
It is in the tank and you can buy them from a Chrysler dealer that had them in Washington. I can't remember the dealer it's been so long.
take your fuel line from your fuel pump off and blow into the line as hard as you can . you have sludge from the bottom of your fuel tank that is clogging the gas flow to your carb. Or your fuel pump isn't working .
this year truck will have a mechanical fuel pump on most dodge engines it is on the passenger side of the block usually bolted to the side of the timing chain cover.
the 79 dodge powerwagon only had a mechanical fuel pump. so unless someone added a after market electrical one. it should not have wires
