If it has a carburetor the filer is located right where the fuel line connects to the carburetor. You will see a very large bolt. Disconnect the fuel line and then turn this bolt. The filter is behind that bolt held in place with a spring. If it is Fuel Injected the filter in located somewhere between the fuel tank and the fuel rail, unless Pace Arrow installed it in the fuel tank which is possible. You need an owner's manual for this vehicle.
The arrow goes toward the engine.

In line filters are directional. check that filter was not installed backwards look for arrow on the side of filter. arrow should point towards engine an away from fuel tank
Slide the clamps down. pull the fuel filter off the hoses. Put the new one on. And look for for the arrow on the side of the fuel filter. The arrow is to show you which way the fuel is going. It comes from the fuel tank, and goes TO the engine. Point the arrow going to the engine.
If you look closely at the filter there should be an arrow and on most the word flow next to the arrow. The arrow should point to the engine and away from the gas tank. the arrow should point to the front.
on most fuel filters , there is a arrow, when installing the fuel filter, always make sure the arrow is pointing towards carburetor, or towards the front of the engine.
The ends sould be marked in and out, the out faces the front of the vehicle. The filter may also have an arrow which points to the front.
Add engine coolant
When installing an air filter in a car, make sure the airflow direction arrow on the filter is pointing towards the engine.
Fuel filter sits on the inside rail just a foot from the drives door. undo the claps and reattach the new filter. Arrow in the filter goes to the front of the truck.
