It is located in the bottom of coolant bottle.

The low coolant light on a 1999 Buick Regal with a 3.8L engine may remain illuminated until the engine reaches a certain temperature due to a faulty coolant level sensor or a problem with the cooling system. If the coolant level is adequate but the sensor is malfunctioning, it may incorrectly signal low coolant. Additionally, if the engine is cold, the coolant may not circulate properly, causing the sensor to read low until the engine warms up and the coolant expands. It's advisable to check the coolant level and sensor functionality to diagnose the issue accurately.
Either the coolant reservoir is low on coolant or the coolant level sensor is NG.
The coolant level sensor is about three inches below the coolant cap on the back side of the radiator. It is a 1.5 X 1.5 inch box with an electrical plug going into the bottom of it.
You may have a faulty coolant level sensor
Make sure it really is low on coolant by checking the coolant when engine is off. If the level is up to par, then the sensor may be bad.

There are two separate sensors that play here. the "coolant temperature sensor" and "coolant LEVEL sensor". I suggest confirming which of these was replaced, as it is very common for them to be confused. likely you will find the coolant sensor that was replaced was the one on the engine (temperature); The LEVEL sensor is mounted either in the coolant resivoir or in the radiator. Probably just need the proper sensor replaced.
The coolant level sensor on a Buick 3800 engine is typically located in the coolant reservoir tank. It is designed to monitor the level of coolant and send signals to the vehicle's dashboard to alert the driver if the coolant level is low. To access it, you may need to remove the reservoir tank, which is usually secured by clips or bolts. Always consult the vehicle's service manual for specific instructions related to your model year.
it is in the middle of the radiator resevior
Not positive, but there is something attached to the bottom of the coolant tank, maybe that's it.
