Actually , the 3.9 liter and the 4.2 liter V6 engines use a timing CHAIN
I change my belt at approx 80,000 km or 50,000 miles, or when the belt as cracks orcuts. The above sounds like a serpentine belt...The Freestar/Monterey/Windstars do not have a timing belt - they are equipped with a timing chain which does not require routine replacement.
In a 2005 Ford Freestar : Both the 3.9 litre V6 engine and the 4.2 litre V6 engine have a timing CHAIN
The 2.0 liter DOHC , Zetec engine in a 2004 Ford Escape has a timing BELT
belt
The V6 engine in a 2004 Ford Mustang has a timing CHAIN
chain
No it has a timing chain
timing CHAIN
there is no adjustment as it as already as a pully that does that, unless yours is seized or stuck.
In a 2004 Ford Focus : Both the 2.0 litre SOHC and DOHC engines have a timing BELT The 2.3 litre engine has a timing CHAIN
I believe the 2.3 L - DOHC engine in the 2004 Ford Ranger has a timing CHAIN instead of a timing belt , the 3.0 L and 4.0 L use timing chains
CHAIN
