On the front of the engine, drivers side, between the radiator and the engine itself, way down low is a yellow plastic dip stick. This is the transmission dip-stick. There is a little clip that needs to be pulled back before you can remove it.
Be sure the transmission is a normal operating temp and on a level surface.
Be careful not to burn yourself! It's hard to reach.
How do you check the transmission fluid on a 2003 Saturn vue
How much transmission to replace new?
it uses a Delco synthetic transmission fluid on the CVT 4 cylinder transmission and ATF on the V6
as much as it can after you let the access fluid out
No, most modern automatic transmissions have been redesigned and are now considered to be "sealed". As such, they no longer have dipsticks and are not easily serviceable.

The 2003 Saturn Vue typically holds about 4 to 5 quarts of transmission fluid when changing the fluid and filter. However, if you're performing a complete transmission fluid change, it may require up to 10 quarts, depending on the specific transmission type. Always refer to the owner's manual for the most accurate specifications.
Use the dip stick tube.

To change the automatic transmission fluid in a 2003 Saturn Ion, first, raise the vehicle and secure it on jack stands. Remove the transmission fluid pan by loosening the bolts and allowing the old fluid to drain into a pan. Replace the filter if applicable, clean the pan, and reattach it with a new gasket. Finally, refill the transmission with the appropriate type and amount of new fluid through the dipstick tube, ensuring the vehicle is level and checking the fluid level as you go.
