AFTER.
Only a larger filter (100 micron) should be placed before the pump or suction side. A smaller finer filter should go between the pump and the carb. Too small of a filter before the pump can lead to inadequate fuel flow rate to the pump.
Fuel pump and filter are located at the engine, it is a mecahnical pump the filter should be right on top of the manifold
disconnect the fuel line from the fuel filter and turn the ignition to just before the ruck would start, this should activate the fuel pump and fuel should flow from the fuel line.
Pre-filter for what? You posted this question in the Fuel Filter category. So I must assume you mean the pre-filter on the fuel pump. That is changed when the fuel pump is replaced.
In the fuel tank with fuel pump. You should not have to change the filter.
the fuel pump is in the gas tank and the filter should be on the line coming out of the tank that goes to the engine.
It is highly recommended.
This filter is a permanent filter and should only be replaced when replacing the fuel pump.
In most vehicles, there is no filter in the fuel pump. in some cars the fuel filter is mounted in the tank near the pump.
Replace the fuel filter before proceeding. That may be your problem. It may also be a fuel pump failing, especially if the fuel filter is clogged. A clogged fuel filter will ruin an otherwise good pump. Can also be a defective fuel pump relay.
Simple, replace the fuel filter and if it still will not start more than likely the fuel pump is defective. But it can also be nothing more than a blown fuse or defective fuel pump relay. Check them both before moving to replacing the fuel pump.
fuel pump was coming on before changed fuel filter now its not is there a reason for this
