Usually the black one connected to ground (metal part of engine)
connect the positive (red) cable first then negative (black)
Negative battery cable - a solid metal part of the engine

just disconnect positive battery cable for a few minutes and reconected back again
Remove brackets that hold existing battery in place. Unscrew negative cable, then positive cable. Pull old battery out. Place new battery in. Fasten negative battery cable, then positive one. Place bracket back on and tighten nuts.
The negative cable is removed first, then the positive. To re-connect, the positive goes first, then the negative.

Undo the battery negative cable for approx 20 minutes. That should remove all codes and trouble codes. They will however return if its a trouble code not diagnostic, if that makes any sense.
