if im not mistaken the heater control has vacuum lines. take off heater controls and see if you have a bad vacuum line to heater box.

My guess is that you have a vacuum line that isn't connected or that has a hole. In the cars I've driven, the blower blows air into the heater box, where the heater core lives. Vacuum lines open and close flaps (or doors) on the heater box to direct the air where the control unit says it should go. These lines are usually rubber tubing, and the ends can dry out and crack, causing leaks. I have never worked on a dodge, but I've replaced miles of vacuum line on other cars.

I can think of one of two reasons.... 1. The heater hose from the central air box, located underneath the dash, in the center, has slipped off somehow. Check the warmth of the carpet while the heater is on to see if there's any circulation. 2. There are several heater valves, operating by vacuum hose that could have a bad diaphram, or disconnected or broken vacuum line. You'll need a vacuum gauge to test the lines.

Drain coolant from engine and keep it safe and clean somewhere. Make sure to keep coolant hoses from the heater box up high to prevent coolant from leaking out. Disconnect the two coolant lines from the heater box. Make sure not to kink the lines. Undo the two bolts in the engine bay on the lower part of the heater box, and the top two bolts in the passenger footwell. Remove heater box from upper footwell engine bay area. Blower and heater matrix are now accessible.

you have to remove th ac compressor, condensor and lines. aI did this and just cut the lines at the heater box. if you dont want to do this go to the local wrecker and get a non ac heater box to clean up your engine bay.

There is no heater control valve on this generation of dodges like there used to be... the water flows constantly through the heater valve.. the only control is a trap door that allows cab air to be run through the heater core and is controlled by a vacuum solenoid in the heater box.. the temp control is also vacuum operated but be sure to check the vacuum supply line coming in from the engine.... it has a check valve in it that can be keeping the controls from getting enough vacuum to operate properly.. if you don't have a mighty vac just get one of those packs of barbed vacuum fittings from your local shucks and bypass the valve temporarily and see if you get heat... hope this helps
